Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Angel Mccarthy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Smith!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a push kick but Mccarthy slaps the foot to one side.
Mccarthy tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Mccarthy wants the takedown. Smith is fighting it off but Mccarthy persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Smith's guard against the cage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mccarthy is standing up over Smith. Smith looks to escape but Mccarthy dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith wants to control but Mccarthy postures up.
Mccarthy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mccarthy taking a breather here.
Smith is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mccarthy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mccarthy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Smith has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mccarthy stands up.
Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mccarthy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Smith on his heels. He'll look to pass Smith's guard now, I'm sure.
Mccarthy is standing up over Smith. Smith looks to escape but Mccarthy dives into side control.
Mccarthy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mccarthy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mccarthy has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Smith!
Mccarthy stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Mccarthy is rocked!
Smith is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Mccarthy flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Mccarthy is out cold! Smith holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike Smith!
Mike Smith was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
