PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Olin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elijah Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hart's choice of entrance music: Amish Paradise. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Olin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Elijah Hart!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olin checks a low kick from Hart.
Hart dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Olin. That did some damage!
Olin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hart as he jumps to the side.
Olin has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hart.
Olin gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A left and a right from Hart both land. Nice combination.
Olin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
We've been hearing reports that Olin has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hart misses with an attempted mid kick.
Olin has his takedown stuffed
and Hart counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hart has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hart finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hart tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Olin was well out of range. Poor timing from Hart.

Hart lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Olin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Hart pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A slapping leg kick lands for Hart.
Hart cracks the inside of Olin's front leg.
Olin takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Olin shoots in for a takedown but Hart shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Olin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hart bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Olin is looking for a sweep.

Hart working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Hart thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hart tries for a kimura but Olin is defending well.
Olin tries to bench press Hart off him but Hart keeps the position.

Hart is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Olin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Olin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hart wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Hart tries for a kimura but Olin is defending well.

Olin holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Hart staying calm.
Olin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Olin won't allow Hart to pass to mount.
Olin is refusing to be controlled, as Hart sits in half guard.
Olin controlling the position well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Olin tries to get to full guard but Hart has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elijah Hart dominated that round.

A looping hook to the body misses from Hart. Olin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hart is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Olin rather than just go for the knockout.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hart.
Olin shoots in looking for a takedown. Hart tries to sprawl out of it but Olin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hart lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Hart delivers a nice body kick.
Olin avoids the head kick by Hart.
Hart lands a jab to Olin's midsection.
Hart is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Olin.
Elijah Hart seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hart wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hart fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Olin.
Hart misses with a head kick.
Hart lands a nice looking body kick.
Hart throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hart lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Olin at a distance.
Hart keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Olin takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hart walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Olin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hart throws a solid leg kick but Olin takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hart.
Olin shoots for a double leg takedown but Hart sprawls well. He's pushed Olin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Olin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hart throws a half hearted mid kick.
Elijah Hart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hart connects with a leg kick. Olin looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hart wants to slow Olin down by chopping away at his legs.
A thudding body kick lands there by Hart!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hart cracks a nice hook into Olin's ribs.
Hart throws a wild body kick that Olin sees coming a mile off.

Hart drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hart tries to free his leg and advance position but Olin is retaining full guard.
Hart trying to control but Olin is working from the bottom.

Hart stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Olin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Olin has his hands on Hart's head, controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hart's jab looks to have found its range, popping Olin under the eye.
Olin is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hart.

Hart shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Olin is trying to defend but Hart finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Olin wants to get back to full guard.

Hart is trying to work for a kimura but Olin is defending well.

Hart seems to be looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elijah Hart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Olin shoots in for a takedown but Hart shows good takedown defense.

Hart uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Olin has time to react.
Olin tries for a takedown but Hart circles away easily
letting Hart counter with a right hand.


Olin is rocked!

Olin tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hart goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Oh Olin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Olin gets the takedown into side control.
Hart prevents Olin from improving position.
Olin working the head with strikes.
Olin seems to have got his legs back now.
Olin works to advance to full mount. Hart defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Olin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hart looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hart is trying desperately to improve position.
Hart is in a horrible position here. Olin smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Olin scoring with strikes but Hart is staying in there.

Hart is rocked!
Olin loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Hart scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Olin land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Olin stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Olin!

A relieved looking Jack Olin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
