Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Vimes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonhomme Sept Heures (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sept Heures has chosen Monster Mash as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Vimes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bonhomme Sept Heures!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sept Heures tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vimes swivels and escapes.
Vimes throws a big shot that misses.

Sept Heures closes the distance and clinches.
Sept Heures misses with a knee strike.
Sept Heures tries to land knees in the clinch but Vimes avoids the damage to the body.
Sept Heures throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Vimes blocks it with crossed arms.
Sept Heures lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Vimes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sept Heures throws a wild body kick that Vimes sees coming a mile off.
Vimes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sept Heures.
Sept Heures swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vimes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vimes lands with a straight right. Sept Heures didn't see that one coming.
Sept Heures moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Vimes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vimes throws the left hand but Sept Heures avoids the punch easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sept Heures has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Vimes avoids the head kick by Sept Heures.
Vimes tests Sept Heures's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sept Heures slips a jab and a cross from Vimes.
Vimes is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

A lazy left from Vimes finds it's target.
Sept Heures takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sept Heures takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Vimes takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Vimes lands a jab to the head.
Vimes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sept Heures.
Sept Heures wants to clinch.
It looks like Vimes has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Vimes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Vimes misses with a wild combination.
Vimes circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vimes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sept Heures. Sept Heures obviously looking to wear him down.
Vimes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sept Heures.

Sept Heures drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vimes is trying to keep Sept Heures in close.
Vimes looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sept Heures trying to control but Vimes is working from the bottom.
Vimes pulls Sept Heures in close to his closed guard and prevents Sept Heures from doing any damage or advancing position.
Sept Heures wants to control from the top but Vimes keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sept Heures feints and then cracks Vimes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vimes down.
Vimes slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Vimes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Sept Heures manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vimes on his heels. He'll look to pass Vimes's guard now, I'm sure.
Sept Heures missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Vimes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sept Heures is one step ahead there.
Sept Heures scoring with some ground and pound.
Vimes is trying to control the position but Sept Heures postures up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Sept Heures is looking to work some ground and pound but Vimes has wrist control.
Sept Heures trying to control the position from guard on top but Vimes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sept Heures tries to free his leg and advance position but Vimes is retaining full guard.

Sept Heures postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Sept Heures is fighting to break Vimes's control of his arms but Vimes is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Samuel Vimes just wasn't active enough.
Sept Heures takes a shot to the body in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Good leg kick by Sept Heures there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Vimes on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for Sept Heures.
Sept Heures shoots in for a double leg but Vimes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Vimes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sept Heures tries to close the distance and clinch but Vimes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vimes is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Vimes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vimes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Samuel Vimes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Sept Heures lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sept Heures takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vimes. Sept Heures does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vimes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sept Heures walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sept Heures uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vimes.
Sept Heures buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Vimes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sept Heures is looking to clinch.
Vimes throws a jab but it's blocked by Sept Heures.
Sept Heures tries to clinch but Vimes is having none of it.
Vimes swinging wildly here.
Sept Heures throws a push kick but Vimes slaps the foot to one side.
Vimes connects with a nice looking jab.

Vimes lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Vimes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sept Heures's head.


Sept Heures is rocked!
Vimes drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Sept Heures right on the button. Sept Heures goes down! Vimes follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Vimes gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samuel Vimes!
Samuel Vimes really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Hilo Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
