Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlo Froch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Blanco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlo Froch!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Roberto Blanco!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Froch.
Blanco shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Froch as he avoids it easily.
Blanco paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Froch dives in and scores a takedown into Blanco's guard.
Froch is looking to work some ground and pound but Blanco has wrist control.
Blanco can't keep his opponent in guard - Froch advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Blanco told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Blanco wants to improve his position but Froch is controlling well.
Blanco is not content to let Froch control the position.
Blanco is trying to get back to full guard.
Froch lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Froch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blanco swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee asks Froch politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Froch prefers to stall for the moment though.

Froch postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Froch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blanco keeps working.
