Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Parker Molina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Courteener!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Courteener looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Courteener is looking to stand up but Molina won't let him.
Courteener content to stall in guard here.

Pedro Courteener has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Molina avoids a punch combination nicely.

Courteener goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Molina uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Courteener.

Courteener decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.


Molina is rocked!
Courteener throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Oh Molina is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Courteener tries to stand and escape but Molina is controlling the position.
Still in half guard, Courteener seems content to control.
Molina is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Courteener scores with a couple of nice shots.
Courteener takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Courteener is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Courteener looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Courteener is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Molina defends it well.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Pedro Courteener.

Courteener gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Courteener has clasped his hands together around Molina's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Courteener wants to lay and pray for a moment but Molina keeps working.

Molina tries to buck Courteener off but Courteener is having none of it.
Molina is trying to control Courteener's posture but Courteener avoids it.
The ground and pound from Courteener seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Courteener goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Molina has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Courteener but great work by Molina.

Molina goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Courteener rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Molina's guard! Nice work there by Courteener!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Courteener missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Molina moves out of range of the leg kick from Courteener.
Molina really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Molina gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Courteener to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Courteener postures up.
Molina will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Molina is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Molina is looking for a sweep. Courteener is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Courteener seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Courteener wants to clinch.

Courteener closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Molina to the mat! Molina manages to get full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pedro Courteener hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Courteener misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Molina counters with a nice double leg into side control. Courteener won't be happy with that.

Pedro Courteener showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Molina's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Courteener escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Courteener manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Molina on his heels. He'll look to pass Molina's guard now, I'm sure.

Courteener darts in and clinches Molina up against the cage.

Courteener jumps guard and drags Molina to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Molina has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Courteener takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Molina avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Molina shoots for a double leg takedown but Courteener sprawls well. He's pushed Molina's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Courteener slaps away a takedown attempt from Molina, before circling back to the center of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pedro Courteener comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Courteener has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
