PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between HoYoung Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wun Lung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that HoYoung Kim has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily HoYoung Kim seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Lung.
Kim fails with the takedown.
Lung just misses with a punch to the body.
Lung throws a low kick but Kim moves out of range easily.
Lung throws a shot from downtown. Kim moves away and avoids it.
Kim misses with a body kick.
Lung fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lung looks to clinch
and Kim counters with a nice body shot.
Kim circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kim shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lung sprawls well. Lung wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kim gets slowly back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kim avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lung throws a leg kick but Kim moved away.

Kim darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kim seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lung does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kim is trying to work for a kimura but Lung is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lung tries to get to full guard but Kim has control of the leg.
Kim stalling away here and it's allowed Lung to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lung is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kim has a closed guard, preventing Lung from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kim dives in and grabs Lung's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lung pushes down on Kim's head and hops out.

Kim has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lung finds it's way round the side to connect with Kim's head.

Kim fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lung avoids it really well and circles away.

Lung buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Lung will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lung thuds his right hand into Kim's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Lung feints and then cracks Kim's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kim down.
Lung clobbers Kim with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Kim keeps control of Lung as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lung prevents the takedown attempt.

Lung is pressed up against the cage. Kim has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lung down to the mat. Lung avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lung darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Kim walks into a stiff left hand from Lung.
Lung throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kim fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A punch lands to the side of Kim 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lung. Kim does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kim tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lung sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kim somewhat.

Lung takes the fight into the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kim jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lung walks away with a smile on his face. Kim gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wun Lung showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Lung slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Kim shoots in and bounces Lung off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Lung utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kim wants to control from the top but Lung keeps moving.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lung manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kim manages to get himself to full guard.
Lung wants to stand and escape but instead Kim has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kim postures up in Lung's guard and throws a big left but Lung blocks it.
Lung is trying to keep Kim in close.

Lung working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kim looking to sit in guard and control but Lung gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kim bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lung's guard.

Lung is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kim is controlling him.
Kim postures up in Lung's guard and throws a big left but Lung blocks it.
Kim stops Lung from standing up.

Kim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lung is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kim, into his guard.
Lung has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kim is proving hard to escape from.
Wun Lung is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Kim looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lung is one step ahead there.
HoYoung Kim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to HoYoung Kim.
I think Lung has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
