Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Masamichi Yamaji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Zeller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Masamichi Yamaji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaji chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Zeller can pounce on him.
Yamaji looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Yamaji fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Zeller checks it well.
A slow jab from Yamaji misses its intended target.
Yamaji fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zeller manages to avoid it.

Zeller swings away with a body shot that misses
and Yamaji makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Zeller really felt that one!
Zeller shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yamaji pinned against the cage. Yamaji gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Yamaji throws a head kick but Zeller moves out of range.
Zeller tries to land a front kick but Yamaji steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Yamaji connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Zeller has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Yamaji fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Zeller.

Zeller shoots in for a double leg but Yamaji sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Zeller shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yamaji's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Yamaji is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Zeller moves in looking to clinch but Yamaji pushes him off.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
That kick from Yamaji tenderised Zeller's leg. Zeller is trying to keep his angry face on.
Yamaji swings for the body but Zeller moves out of range.
Zeller throws the kick towards the body but Yamaji avoids it.
Yamaji throws a push kick but Zeller slaps the foot to one side.
Yamaji dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Zeller. That did some damage!

Zeller tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yamaji defends well and Zeller ends up having to push Yamaji into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Zeller lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
