Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Neno Pejovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mar Vell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pejovsky comes into the arena with Anvil of Crom blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Mar Vell enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Neno Pejovsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mar Vell!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vell misses with a takedown attempt - Pejovsky sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vell scores with a nice strike.
Vell lands a body shot.
Vell wants to land a leg kick but Pejovsky is out of range.
A clash of legs there as Vell blocks the low kick.
Vell chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Pejovsky can pounce on him.

The fighters circle momentarily. Pejovsky darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Vell creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pejovsky sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vell sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Pejovsky is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Pejovsky manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Pejovsky is staying active underneath Vell, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mar Vell will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Vell uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pejovsky.

Pejovsky throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Vell has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pejovsky.
A lazy left from Vell finds it's target.
Pejovsky ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vell moves away.

and Pejovsky counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Vell's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A close second round but Mar Vell will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Vell gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A nice leg kick lands there from Pejovsky.

and Vell counters with a left to the body.

Vell throws a half hearted mid kick.
Vell leaves Pejovsky with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vell gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Pejovsky thuds his right hand into Vell's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Vell feints and as Pejovsky raises his hands in defense, Vell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Neno Pejovsky has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Neno Pejovsky.
I think Vell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
