Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joey Nix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nix comes to the cage accompanied by Gorilla Militia by Bliss n Eso. Spiteri is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: AC/DC -TNT. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Spiteri!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nix tries to clinch up.
Spiteri throws a right hand that misses
and Nix counters with a stiff right hand.
Nix moves out of range as Spiteri strikes.
Spiteri connects with a looping right hand.
Spiteri throws a jab but it's blocked by Nix.
A slow jab from Nix misses its intended target.

Spiteri connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nix momentarily.

Nix's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Spiteri connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nix scrambles back to his feet.

Nix looks to land a combination. Spiteri sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Nix counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nix.

Spiteri has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Nix struggles to land a body shot inside as Spiteri controls his hands.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Nix.
I was talking to Nix's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Spiteri lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Come on Spiteri - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Nix misses with the head strike.
Spiteri is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Nix tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Spiteri's elbow.

Nix ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nix no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nix has a closed guard, preventing Spiteri from standing up.

Nix shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Oh Nix is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Spiteri plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Nix swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Nix face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
