PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Remedios Verzosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tweedle Dee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dee has chosen Chumbawamba - Tubthumping as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Tweedle Dee!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verzosa looks to score with a jab to the body but Dee is just out of range.
Verzosa has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Saboteur's Playground in the buildup to the fight.

Verzosa smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

so Dee counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dee throws a big right hand that misses.
Verzosa looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dee puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Dee working his ground and pound in the gym.

That was a close round but I would say that Remedios Verzosa will probably get the nod.
That's time! Verzosa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Good leg kick by Dee there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tweedle Dee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tweedle Dee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

BOOM! Dee lands a beautiful left hook that drops Verzosa. Verzosa tries to recover but Dee is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Verzosa lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
