PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mo Dough (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mona Rudao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mo Dough!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mona Rudao!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dough fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dough misses with a straight left.
Dough looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rudao is fending him off so far but Dough persists. Nope, Rudao circles away and we're back to standing.
Rudao closes the distance and clinches up with Dough, looking for a takedown. Rudao pushes Dough against the cage but Dough circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rudao fails to land the takedown.
Dough fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mo Dough. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice defenses there by Rudao.
Dough shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rudao as he jumps to the side.
Mo Dough seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rudao closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dough jumps guard but Rudao turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dough tries to pull guard but Rudao won't allow it.
Rudao has had enough of the clinch but Dough keeps him there for the moment.
Dough jumps guard but Rudao stands there with Dough around his waist. Dough gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Rudao jumps guard and drags Dough to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rudao can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Rudao working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dough doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dough manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rudao wants to get back to his feet but Dough is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dough is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rudao is looking to sweep but instead, Dough has passed into half guard.

Dough is looking for a kimura here.

Dough seems to be working for a kimura but Rudao defends the submission attempt.

Rudao wants to get back to full guard but Dough has mounted him!

Rudao is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Dough locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Rudao is forced to tap!
