The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stefani shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Thorenborn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stefani's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Thorenborn wants to control from the top but Stefani keeps moving.

Stefani has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thorenborn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thorenborn drops back looking for a leg! Stefani is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stefani manages to kick Thorenborn off! Thorenborn jumps back into Stefani's guard.

Thorenborn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stefani has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thorenborn has managed to get both his arms back between Stefani's legs - danger averted.
