PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stefano Perruzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harmon Darrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Darrell. Beautiful body shot.
Darrell throws the left hand but Perruzi avoids the punch easily.
Darrell connects with a crisp jab.
Darrell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Perruzi momentarily.
Darrell scores with a jab. Perruzi acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Perruzi moves forwards but Darrell connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Perruzi is rocked!

Perruzi instigates a clinch.
Oh Perruzi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Perruzi pulls guard successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Darrell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Darrell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Darrell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Darrell trying to control but Perruzi is working from the bottom.
Perruzi seems to have got his legs back now.
Perruzi controls Darrell momentarily but Darrell frees himself.

Darrell drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Perruzi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Darrell has Perruzi in his guard.
Darrell is trying to hold Perruzi in close to prevent damage but Perruzi has managed to pass into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Perruzi in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Darrell looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Darrell wants to control but Perruzi is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Darrell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Perruzi pulls his head out easily.

Darrell looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Perruzi is keen to just control but Darrell is a slippery customer.

Perruzi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Darrell is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Perruzi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Perruzi's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Darrell is working for a rear naked choke. Perruzi is not defending it well and Darrell has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Perruzi refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Perruzi's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
