PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight kickboxing rules bout between Bugsy Siegel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tourney Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bugsy Siegel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tourney Fighter!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Siegel misses.
Siegel slips a straight right by Fighter.
Siegel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fighter.

Fighter closes the distance and pushes Siegel back into the ropes.
Siegel tries a body shot but Fighter blocks it.
Siegel is trying to maintain a safe position but Fighter gets an underhook and turns Siegel into the ropes.
Siegel tries to work over Fighter's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Siegel misses with a hook to the ribs.
Siegel throws a punch but it's blocked by Fighter.
Siegel works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Fighter tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Siegel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fighter tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Siegel's elbow.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Siegel swings wildly with an uppercut but Fighter uses good head movement to avoid it.

Fighter has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Siegel seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Fighter can turn it around.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fighter bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Siegel's head backwards.

Siegel looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Fighter checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Siegel cracks the inside of Fighter's front leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bugsy Siegel will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Siegel throws a lazy right hand but Fighter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Fighter is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Fighter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Siegel throws out a leg kick but Fighter moves out of range and Siegel only half commits.
Siegel fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Fighter takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Siegel.

Siegel tries to work over Fighter's front leg with a kick but Fighter checks it.

Fighter slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Fighter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Fighter checks a leg kick.
Siegel throws a head kick but Fighter moves out of range.

Fighter scores with a jab to the head.
Siegel slips under a jab from Fighter.

Siegel throws a low kick but Fighter avoids it.

Fighter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Siegel.
Fighter tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Siegel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Siegel throws a body punch but Fighter moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter cracks Siegel with an open hand slap.
Fighter might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Siegel stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Siegel.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fighter misses with a looping left.
A left lands for Fighter.
Siegel has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Siegel there as he acknowledges the shot.
Fighter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Siegel manages to avoid it.

and Siegel counters with a good low kick that Fighter was not able to check.
Fighter is looking to clinch but Siegel is avoiding it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Siegel tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Fighter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Tourney Fighter will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Both fighters circling a little - Siegel finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Siegel finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Fighter goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


Siegel is rocked!
Fighter misses with a hook. Siegel ducked under it nicely.
Oh Siegel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fighter missing with a left hand there. Siegel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Siegel dodges the punch combination from Fighter.
Fighter loads up on a big right hand but Siegel slips the punch.
Siegel throws a leg kick but Fighter moved away.
A telegraphed right hand from Fighter misses the target.
Siegel walks straight into devastating uppercut and drops to the floor, clearly wobbled! Can he beat the count? 4,5,6,7... he's up! And he's down again! The ref steps in and calls an end to the fight! What a punch that was!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Tourney Fighter!
Tourney Fighter was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
