The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moss moves into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Barton tries to break the clinch but Moss is controlling the position.

Moss pulls guard.
Moss looking for a sweep. Not yet Moss, not yet.
Moss is trying to control the position but Barton postures up.
Moss wants to stand up but Barton is controlling him.
Moss working a defensive guard here.
Barton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moss. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Moss has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Barton has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Moss tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Barton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Barton won't allow Moss to get back to his feet.

Barton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Barton wants to stand and escape but instead Moss has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Barton has his feet on Moss's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
The fight stays on the outside here - Barton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Barton throws a head kick but Moss moves out of range.
No luck for Barton with that takedown attempt.

Barton tries for a takedown but Moss sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Barton lands a nice leg kick that just misses Moss's sensitive parts.

Barton moves into range and clinches up with Moss.
Moss tries to circle away but Barton has him pinned against the cage.
Barton can't get the takedown.
Malik Moss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Barton.

Barton manages to break the clinch.
Moss misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Barton, right into the meat.

Barton connects with a body shot that sends Moss's belly button to the back.
Barton fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Barton has his takedown stuffed
and Moss counters with a three punch combo that has Barton backing up. Barton nods at Moss to acknowledge the strikes.
Eddie Barton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good leg kick by Barton there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Barton tries a head kick but it misses.

Barton drives through with a takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Moss is trying to drag Barton to the mat but Barton just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Barton throws a punch but it's blocked by Moss.
Barton is trying to break the clinch but Moss has him pressed against the cage.
Moss is trying to pull guard but Barton has him pressed against the cage.
Barton gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Moss.
Barton is looking to control Moss's arms but Moss gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barton has his back to the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Barton wants to break free but Moss has control.
Moss tries to pull guard but Barton holds him up against the cage and eventually Moss drops back down to his feet.
Moss lands on the inside with an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Malik Moss will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Moss avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A head kick misses from Barton.

Moss tries to keep at a distance but Barton has taken the fight into the clinch.
Barton can't break the clinch.
Barton using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Moss has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Moss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Barton pulls his leg out and moves away.
Barton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Moss avoids it really well and circles away.
Moss keeps the fight on the outside.

Barton buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Barton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Barton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Barton is breathing heavily.
Barton tries to clinch but Moss moves away
and Moss counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Barton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Moss counters with a left and a right that stings Barton.
Malik Moss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Barton.
Barton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Moss manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Moss circles away from the clinch attempt.

Moss stuffs the takedown.
Barton with a lazy takedown attempt
and Moss counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Moss just misses with a punch to the body.
A combination from Barton does no damage.
Barton takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Moss fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Barton sprawls well initially but Moss persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Barton on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Moss working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Moss takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Moss drops an elbow to the side of Barton's head.
Moss will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Moss is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Barton doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Moss.

Barton tries to roll over but Moss keeps him under control.
Barton tries to kick Moss off but Moss keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moss working over Barton with some ground and pound. Barton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Malik Moss overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
