Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Todd Lane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kane Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kane Williams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Todd Lane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kane Williams!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ben Hemmingworth and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane slips under a jab.
No joy there for Williams, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Williams lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Todd Lane has been cut.
Lane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lane wants it to stay on the feet.

and Lane holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Lane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kane Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Lane sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Todd Lane just wasn't active enough.

Williams lands a left and a right that send Lane crashing to the mat, dazed. Williams thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Horrible takedown by Williams or perhaps it was just good defense by Lane which made him look bad.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We've been informed that Williams has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Williams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Williams throws a hook to the side of Lane's head but Lane sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lane goes for a takedown attempt but Williams pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Williams clobbers Lane with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Williams decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lane, up you get!

Williams rushes Lane and presses him up against the cage.

Williams breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd cheers as Williams lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lane doesn't seem phased though.
Williams tries to bum rush Lane with a series of wild strikes but Lane uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Williams throws a right hand that Lane ducks under and follows up with a left that Lane also avoids with ease.
Williams lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lane's sensitive parts.
Lane shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Todd Lane. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lane enables Williams to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lane manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Williams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lane circles away quickly and effectively.

Williams is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lane lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Williams!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lane looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Well Williams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
