Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luka Mrtic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kolt Ganger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luka Mrtic has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kolt Ganger!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ganger lands with a good body shot.
Mrtic throws a sloppy head kick and Ganger moves out of range easily.

Mrtic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ganger is working away from the top position though.

Mrtic is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ganger defends well.

Ganger throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mrtic works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ganger sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mrtic's guard.

Ganger is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Ganger lands with a good body shot.

Ganger lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mrtic down.
Mrtic tries to bench press Ganger off him but Ganger keeps the position.
Mrtic sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Ganger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ganger wants to take a breather but Mrtic is having none of it.

Ganger looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mrtic is not content to let Ganger control the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kolt Ganger wasn't active enough on the ground.
Mrtic tries to close the distance and clinch but Ganger swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ganger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mrtic tries to avoid it but Ganger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mrtic to the ground. Mrtic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mrtic tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ganger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mrtic misses with a low kick as Ganger jumps back.
Ganger blocks a low kick nicely.

Luka Mrtic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ganger cracks Mrtic with a big right hand but Mrtic just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Ganger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mrtic with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Mrtic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mrtic manages to get to full guard.
Mrtic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mrtic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kolt Ganger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mrtic walks into a jab.
Mrtic tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ganger is able to avoid easily.
Mrtic throws a sloppy head kick and Ganger moves out of range easily.

Mrtic wants to slow Ganger down by chopping away at his legs.
Ganger throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mrtic stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mrtic looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Mrtic misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mrtic takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Oh Mrtic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
