The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rabago swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rabago misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rabago fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gorfal looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Rabago stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rabago wants it to stay on the feet.

Gorfal ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gorfal no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gorfal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gorfal is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rabago defends it well.
Rabago has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gorfal is working away from the top position though.

Gorfal is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rabago is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Rabago has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Gorfal is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rabago.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Rabago pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gorfal back to the ropes. Rabago follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Gorfal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rabago tries to avoid it but Gorfal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rabago to the ground. Rabago escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sloppy strikes from Rabago. Those never looked like landing.
Rabago connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Gorfal tumbling to the canvas! Rabago pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Gorfal was done - good stoppage!
