Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Stanis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexander Stanis!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanis throws a poor cross that misses

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gracie advances position into side control!
Gracie wants to control for a moment but Stanis uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie wants to control but Stanis is keeping him busy.

Gracie seems to be looking for submissions.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gracie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Stanis is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gracie seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stanis keeps working.

Stanis manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Gracie keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Stanis's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Stanis looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Gracie is looking to take this one to the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stanis wants to get back to striking at distance but Gracie won't allow it.
Stanis wants to break free but Gracie has control.

Gracie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Alexander Stanis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gracie takes a shot to the body in his stride.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Stanis swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
A shot to the body from Stanis misses
and Gracie counters with a stiff right hand.

Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Gracie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Stanis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gracie's guard! Nice work there by Stanis!

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Stanis pushes his legs off easily.

Gracie has his foot on Stanis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stanis works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stanis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stanis defends well.

Gracie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stanis defends well.
Stanis wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position.

Gracie throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Stanis escapes and throws Gracie's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Antonio Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stanis avoids the attempt from Gracie to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Antonio Gracie dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Stanis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.

We've been hearing that Gracie has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Gracie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stanis is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

Still in half guard, Gracie seems content to control.
Gracie wants to take a breather but Stanis is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Antonio Gracie.
Stanis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Stanis.
Stanis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gracie forces Stanis back against the cage and clinches.
Gracie is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Stanis gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Gracie is looking to take this one to the mat.

Gracie gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Stanis regains guard.
Gracie slips nicely into half guard.
Gracie trying to control from half guard but Stanis is working away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stanis is trying to stand.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
