Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Todd Poole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Todd Poole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Jimmy Brown!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poole moves out of range of the leg kick from Brown.

Brown darts in and clinches Poole up against the cage.
Poole missing with knees to the body.
Brown told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Brown prevents a body shot from Poole.
Poole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Poole has clasped his hands together around Brown's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Brown wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Poole misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Brown tries to improve position but can't.

A control attempt from Brown but he's now mounted!
Brown can't escape the position.
BOOM! Poole connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Poole lands a big shot there that rocks Brown but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Brown avoids a series of strikes thrown by Poole.
Brown keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Poole fails to advance to Brown's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown is looking to improve his position but Poole isn't that keen on the idea.
Poole lands a heavy elbow.
Poole will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

BOOM! Poole connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Poole controlling his opponent.
Brown avoids a series of strikes thrown by Poole.
Poole thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Poole has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Poole landing strikes, looking to finish!

Brown is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown looks winded!
Poole fails to move to back control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brown can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Todd Poole dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Poole swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Brown tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Poole defends well and Brown ends up having to push Poole into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Brown prevents a takedown attempt there.

Brown pulls guard.
Poole postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Poole is looking to work some ground and pound but Brown has wrist control.

Poole stands up and waves to Brown to follow him.
Brown throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Poole takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Brown throws a leg kick but Poole checks it.
Poole checks a leg kick nicely.
Brown connects with a right hand. Poole shakes it off.
Brown lands a slapping body shot.
Brown is looking to clinch but Poole is avoiding it.
Brown tries a low kick but Poole avoids it.
Brown ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Poole moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brown throws a left and a right that both miss
and Poole counters with a nice uppercut.
Brown misses with a low kick.
Poole steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Brown.
Poole takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Poole fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Poole shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brown defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Todd Poole. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Poole shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brown is trying to defend but Poole finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Poole missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Poole lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Poole gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Brown closes the distance looking to clinch

and Poole counters with a shoot takedown. Brown fights it but they end up in guard.
Poole postures up in Brown's guard and throws a big left but Brown blocks it.
Brown pulls Poole in close to prevent any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brown is trying to keep Poole in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Todd Poole dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Brown fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Poole misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brown rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Poole moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Brown throws a nice looking combination but Poole bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up but Poole swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Poole slips a jab and a cross from Brown.
Brown takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Brown leaves Poole with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Poole sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brown will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Todd Poole has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Brown.
Poole fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Poole shoots in but Brown avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Poole fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Brown jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Poole fails with the takedown.
Poole ducks under a wild hook from Brown.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown but Poole manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brown's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Poole looks for a takedown but Brown sprawls well.
Brown slaps away a takedown attempt from Poole, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Poole tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Brown defends well and Poole ends up having to push Brown into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Brown is working Poole over against the cage.
Poole changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brown fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Brown connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Poole's hands.
Brown misses with a few strikes there.
Jimmy Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown misses with a body shot.

Brown has Poole up against the cage in a clinch.
Poole fails to pull guard.
Brown is defending well against a takedown attempt.
A head punch on the inside from Poole fails to land.
Poole is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Brown jumps guard.
Brown controls Poole momentarily but Poole frees himself.
Poole trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jimmy Brown comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Poole has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
