Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aloysius Martin Thesz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant comes into the arena with Alice in Chains - Rooster blaring out of the sound system. Cody Grant could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Aloysius Martin Thesz's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aloysius Martin Thesz!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thesz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Grant closes the distance and clinches.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Thesz has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Thesz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Grant smiles and moves away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Thesz.
Grant throws a nice outside leg kick.
Thesz blocks a head kick by Grant.
Grant tries to clinch but Thesz moves out of range.
Thesz tests Grant's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A chopping leg kick lands by Thesz.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thesz misses with a wild combination.
Grant has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Grant looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Grant tries to clinch up
and Thesz counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Grant!

Thesz prevents Grant from escaping the position.
Thesz trying to control the action but Grant is working from the bottom.
Thesz in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Thesz is looking to take a break and control but Grant is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grant is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Thesz has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Thesz misses with the ground and pound.
A lull in the action here.
Grant avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Thesz.

Thesz is looking to take a break and control but Grant is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Thesz has an Americana. Grant didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Thesz is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Thesz hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
