Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Broderick Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Kinney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Kinney is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Broderick Gregory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Kinney!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, John Mangel and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinney stalks Gregory and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gregory's face. Gregory staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Broderick Gregory has been cut.

Kinney shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kinney showed some decent athleticism there.


Gregory is rocked!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kinney content to control rather than advance.
Oh Gregory is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gregory seems to have got his legs back now.

Kinney is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gregory is just riding it out for now. Kinney eventually gives up the hold.

Kinney seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gregory does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gregory is refusing to be controlled, as Kinney sits in half guard.

Kinney closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Kinney feints and as Gregory raises his hands in defense, Kinney changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kinney wants to control from the top but Gregory keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kinney is looking to advance position but Gregory has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Kinney's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kinney takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Gregory with a couple of short strikes.
Gregory has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kinney's face.

Gregory is working for a guillotine from mount but Kinney frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kinney might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gregory haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gregory is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kinney doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gregory.

Gregory is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Kinney to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Gregory is looking to work some ground and pound but Kinney has wrist control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Broderick Gregory will probably get the nod.

Kinney shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gregory napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Kinney takes a little break here. Gregory wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kinney connects with a nice short shot to Gregory's temple.

Kinney is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gregory defends it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kinney seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nick Kinney wasn't active enough on the ground.

Gregory gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gregory has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Kinney has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
