The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Romero has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Romero misses with a low kick as Bennet jumps back.
Nice uppercut lands for Romero. That snapped Bennet's head back.
Bennet with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Romero to score with a decent uppercut.

Romero drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bennet is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Romero off and has taken his back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bennet fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Romero is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Bennet creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Romero sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Romero swings for the body but Bennet moves out of range.

Luivel Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bennet avoids the body shot from Romero.

Romero throws a head kick but Bennet moves out of range.
Romero shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bennet but Bennet pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bennet gets in close and tags Romero with a short punch that almost sends Romero to the mat! Oh Romero is in big trouble! He turns his back on Bennet, trying to create some distance but Bennet rushes him, striking wildly and Romero goes down! The referee tackles Bennet into the cage to end the fight! Bennet is one violent man!
