Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Vercotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Lennox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vercotti comes into the arena with Poverty - Ennio Morricone blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ray Lennox!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vercotti throws out a loose jab but Lennox uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lennox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vercotti manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Lennox moves forwards but Vercotti connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Vercotti clobbers Lennox with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Vercotti is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Lennox throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Vercotti will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Vercotti wants to control from the top but Lennox keeps moving.

Lennox is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vercotti is aware though and is defending well.

Vercotti tries to free his leg and advance position but Lennox is retaining full guard.

Lennox is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lennox is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vercotti wants to sweep but no luck.

That was a close round but I would say that Luigi Vercotti will probably get the nod.

A punch lands to the side of Vercotti 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Vercotti misses with an uppercut. Lennox saw that one coming.

Vercotti shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Vercotti was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We've been hearing that Vercotti has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Vercotti throws a lazy uppercut
letting Lennox counter with a right hand.
Lennox fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vercotti has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Lennox bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lennox pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Vercotti shoots in for a double leg but Lennox sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vercotti stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lennox.
Vercotti cracks Lennox with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Lennox with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vercotti to score with a decent uppercut.

Vercotti is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Lennox counters with a low kick, right behind Vercotti 's knee.

Vercotti tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lennox swivels and escapes.
Lennox looks to land a combination. Vercotti sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Lennox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vercotti pinned against the cage. Vercotti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lennox pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vercotti is defended easily by Lennox.
Vercotti throws a jab when Lennox was well out of range.
Vercotti scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lennox doesn't seem bothered though.
