Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Karl.
Karl cracks Perina with an open hand slap.
Karl has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Victory Gym and Spa in the buildup to the fight.

Perina gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

and Karl cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Perina is still on wobbly legs! Can Karl finish him?
Karl chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Perina can pounce on him.
Karl scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Perina doesn't seem bothered though.

Perina seems to have recovered his senses.
Karl fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Perina on the side of the head.

Karl moves out of range as Perina strikes.
Karl scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Karl throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Perina stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Karl jabs Perina to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Perina is looking to slow Karl down with leg kicks.
Perina missing with a left hand there. Karl was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Karl works Perina's body with a nice hook.
Perina throws a shot from downtown. Karl moves away and avoids it.
Karl cracks a nice hook into Perina's ribs.
Karl lands a left and a right that send Perina crashing to the mat, dazed. Karl thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Perina.
Karl fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Perina looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Perina looks winded!
Perina takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Perina takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A jab from Perina misses.
Karl is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Karl scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Karl lands a jab.
Karl looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Perina throws a hook to the side of Karl's head but Karl sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Karl throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Perina colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Karl as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Perina is left battered and dazed whilst Karl and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pernell Karl!
Pernell Karl was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
