The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kochenko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kochenko tries for a takedown but Ivanov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ivanov slaps away a takedown attempt from Kochenko, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ivanov scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Ivanov scores with a decent looking hook.
Kochenko goes for a double leg but Ivanov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ivanov continues to drive forward.

Kochenko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ivanov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kochenko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Ivanov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kochenko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kochenko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ivanov scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kochenko in his tracks.

It looks like Vladimir Kochenko has been cut.
Ivanov throws a one two combo.
Ivanov throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Kochenko's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Ivanov dives in looking to finish as Kochenko flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Ivanov's strikes! Ivanov is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Kochenko's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Kochenko was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
