Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eren McDougal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eren McDougal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Batista!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista tries to score a power double leg takedown but McDougal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Batista somewhat.
Batista changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McDougal tries to avoid it but Batista manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McDougal to the ground. McDougal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Batista closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McDougal is looking for a sweep. Batista is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Batista thows a huge punch but McDougal dodges it nicely.
McDougal desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Batista is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McDougal has managed to free his arm - good work.
Batista throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing McDougal to regain full guard.
Batista trying to control the position from guard on top but McDougal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McDougal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDougal wants to stand but Batista is controlling the position.
Batista is looking to work some ground and pound but McDougal has wrist control.
McDougal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Batista on the ground.
Batista cracks McDougal with a solid left hand.

McDougal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Batista defends well.
Batista has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Batista trying to control but McDougal is working from the bottom.

McDougal has momentary wrist control but Batista slips an elbow through the middle.
McDougal on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McDougal tries to get out of the position.

Batista stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McDougal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Batista wants to control from the top but McDougal keeps moving.
McDougal can't keep his opponent in guard - Batista advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Batista lands strikes from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Batista frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Batista in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Batista landing strikes from the mount and McDougal is in trouble!
McDougal is looking to improve his position but Batista isn't that keen on the idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Batista is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. McDougal can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Batista looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
McDougal is working to get back to half guard.
Batista lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
McDougal is looking to improve his position but Batista isn't that keen on the idea.
Batista cracks McDougal with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


McDougal is rocked!
McDougal is breathing heavily.
Batista raining down hammerfists from mount.
Oh McDougal is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Batista postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked McDougal badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Batista around the waist but Batista pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Batista is the winner by TKO! Batista jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Batista!
