PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Doo Han (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nariu Kavoc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Doo Han!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nariu Kavoc!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Han.
Kavoc misses with a body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kavoc darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Han shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kavoc defends it nicely.
Kavoc lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kavoc misses with a wild body shot.
Han looks to clinch

and Kavoc counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Han's guard now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Han pulls Kavoc in close to prevent any damage.

Han is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kavoc wanted to stand there but Han had control of the position.

Han seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Han has a closed guard, preventing Kavoc from standing up.
Han bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kavoc's guard.
Kavoc is looking to stand up but Han isn't so interested in that idea.
Han is working Kavoc over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Han distracts Kavoc with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Han postures up in Kavoc's guard and throws a big left but Kavoc blocks it.

Han is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kavoc wants to stand and escape but Han is having none of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kavoc can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Han trying to control but Kavoc is working from the bottom.
Han makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Han prevents Kavoc from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kavoc has momentary wrist control but Han slips an elbow through the middle.

Kavoc wants to stand up but Han is controlling him.
Han stands up over Kavoc, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Kavoc keeping moving, preventing Han from controlling successfully.
Han chips away with some ground and pound.
Han postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Han's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Han content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Han cracks Kavoc with a solid left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Han is in close to Kavoc's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Kavoc is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Han is stalling in the full guard.
Han loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kavoc preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kavoc keeping moving, preventing Han from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Han is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kavoc wants to stand but Han is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doo Han dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kavoc darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Kavoc lands a nice shot that snaps Han's head back.
Kavoc dips to his left and cracks Han with an uppercut!

Kavoc gets tackled into the cage by Han. Han maintains the clinch.
Kavoc swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kavoc misses with a short punch on the inside.
Han tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kavoc avoids it.
Kavoc has a couple of punches blocked by Han.
Han is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kavoc is defending well.
Han has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kavoc is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Still in the clinch, Kavoc scores with a nice short uppercut.

Han has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kavoc uses from the top position.

Doo Han has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kavoc works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Han uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kavoc.
Kavoc connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Han's hands.
Han takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Han shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kavoc pinned against the cage. Kavoc gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doo Han. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Han looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Han walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A left lands for Kavoc.

Han is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kavoc to keep the fight standing.

Han is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kavoc is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kavoc makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nariu Kavoc showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Kavoc feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Doo Han is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kavoc lunges at Han with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Han's hand.
Kavoc connects with a good right hand that stumbles Han. Han circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Han takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Han shoots in for a takedown but Kavoc shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kavoc jabs Han right on the nose. Han blinks but takes it well.

Kavoc cracks Han with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kavoc throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Han on the side of the head.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Han is defended easily by Kavoc.

Nariu Kavoc is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Doo Han overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Han is really struggling to control Kavoc but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Han stops Kavoc from standing up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nariu Kavoc comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kavoc has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
