Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Mcgowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Marcelo Mcgowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mason Blaze!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaze throws a sloppy head kick and Mcgowan moves out of range easily.
Mcgowan dives in and grabs Blaze's left leg, looking for a takedown. Blaze pushes down on Mcgowan's head and hops out.
Blaze defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mcgowan.
Blaze throws a half hearted mid kick.

Mcgowan gets caught napping as Blaze dives in and scores a takedown. Mcgowan manages to retain guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Blaze's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Mcgowan will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blaze slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcgowan is looking to stand up but Blaze isn't so interested in that idea.
Blaze looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mason Blaze.

Blaze closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mcgowan's guard.
Blaze controlling from the top position.
Blaze has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Blaze postures up.
Mcgowan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mason Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Mcgowan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Mcgowan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blaze prevents Mcgowan from getting back to his feet.
Mcgowan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Blaze controls the pace.
Let's hope that Blaze has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mason Blaze was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Blaze has control of an arm but Mcgowan manages to advance to Blaze's back!

Mcgowan has good solid back control here.
Blaze trying to get back to his feet but Mcgowan is in full control for now.
Mcgowan trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Mcgowan is not going to allow Blaze to sit and survive in this position.
Mcgowan tries to get the hooks in deep but Blaze pushed the leg off.
Blaze trying to control the hands but Mcgowan breaks the grip.
A lull in the action here.
Blaze tries to roll but Mcgowan sticks to his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mcgowan is looking for the choke from the back position but Blaze is controlling his hands well.
Blaze trying to control the position but Mcgowan manages to sink in the hooks.
Mcgowan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mason Blaze dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Blaze closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mcgowan's guard.
Blaze wants to control from the top but Mcgowan keeps moving.
Blaze works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mcgowan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Blaze looking to pass the guard.
Mcgowan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blaze is one step ahead there.
Blaze is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Blaze pushes down on Mcgowan's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Blaze perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mason Blaze was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Blaze connects with a body shot.
Blaze misses with a jab, cross combination.

Blaze manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mcgowan on his heels. He'll look to pass Mcgowan's guard now, I'm sure.

Blaze decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mcgowan, up you get!
Blaze is breathing heavily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mcgowan is defended easily by Blaze.
Blaze blocks a head kick by Mcgowan.

Mcgowan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mcgowan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blaze does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Blaze is trying to maintain the position but Mcgowan is very close to passing his half guard.
Mcgowan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blaze keeps working.
Blaze gets full guard.
Blaze has his hands on Mcgowan's head, controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blaze trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Blaze is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mcgowan gets a clinch.

Blaze jumps guard and drags Mcgowan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Blaze wriggles free and stands up.
Mcgowan shoots in looking for a takedown but Blaze manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mcgowan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mcgowan wants to clinch up but Blaze keeps it at a distance.
Blaze swings for the body but Mcgowan moves out of range.

Mcgowan gets caught napping as Blaze dives in and scores a takedown. Mcgowan manages to retain guard.
Mcgowan wants to stand but Blaze is controlling the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blaze controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Blaze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcgowan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blaze is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mason Blaze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

It looks like Marcelo Mcgowan has been cut.
Blaze drops Mcgowan with a big left hand! Mcgowan is injured, injured bad! Blaze jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
