Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Stig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kengo Watanabe!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stig missing with a left hand there. Watanabe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Stig dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Stig swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stig lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Stig lands a leg kick that knocks Watanabe off balance momentarily.
Watanabe misses with an uppercut. Stig saw that one coming.
Watanabe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stig throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
A nice leg kick lands there from Stig.
Watanabe throws a looping overhand right but Stig ducks down to avoid it.
Watanabe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Stig to score with a decent uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stig wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Watanabe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stig to the mat! Stig manages to get full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Watanabe being controlled here momentarily.
Watanabe throwing strikes but missing.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Watanabe working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Stig trying to control the position here.

Stig kicks Watanabe off and gets to his feet.
Stig scores with a hook to the body. Watanabe takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Watanabe shoots in but Stig avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Stig scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Watanabe takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Stig throws a good cross that connects.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Watanabe takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Stig lands a big head kick that sends Watanabe tumbling to the mat! Stig takes a step backwards and waves Watanabe back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Watanabe is rocked!
A thudding body kick lands there by Stig!
Watanabe is still on wobbly legs! Can Stig finish him?
Stig pounces like a tiger and cracks Watanabe with a vicious hook! Watanabe is down but not out! Stig follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). The Stig!
