Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Zarek Reschke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, CJ Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reschke throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Reschke thows a body shot but no joy.
Reschke ducks under a wild hook from Johnson.
Johnson looks to throw the jab but Reschke is out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Johnson.
Johnson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Reschke is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Reschke takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A telegraphed right hand from Reschke misses the target.
Reschke throws a hook but Johnson blocks it.
Johnson misses with the combination.
Reschke pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Johnson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Reschke fails in his attempt to clinch.
Both fighters circling a little - Johnson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reschke but Reschke pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Reschke is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Reschke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
Johnson tries to advance to mount but Reschke denies him.

Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Johnson cracks Reschke with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Johnson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Johnson trying to control the action but Reschke is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

CJ Johnson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Johnson misses the shot to the body.
Reschke throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Reschke tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Johnson is able to avoid easily.
Zarek Reschke is winning the standup battle so far.
Johnson throws a half hearted mid kick.

Reschke instigates a clinch.
Reschke misses with the head strike.
Reschke blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A body shot lands from Johnson.
Reschke lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.
Johnson avoiding damage as Reschke throws knees to the body.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zarek Reschke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've been told by Reschke's head coaches at The Clinic that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Reschke takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Johnson tries to move into range but Reschke moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Reschke fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it.
Reschke cracks Johnson with a right hand to the side of the head.
Reschke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Johnson is looking to slow Reschke down with leg kicks.

Johnson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Reschke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reschke moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Good leg kick by Reschke there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Reschke lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Johnson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Johnson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zarek Reschke dominated that second round.
That's time! Reschke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Reschke regains half guard there - taking advantage of Johnson's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

CJ Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
