PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lincoln Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Stahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawk comes to the cage accompanied by Winner Takes it All. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lincoln Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Bruno Stahl!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk with a poor takedown
and Stahl counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hawk misses with a series of wild punches.
Hawk lands with a good body shot.
Stahl misses with a straight left.
Hawk is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stahl.
Hawk takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hawk lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Stahl at a distance.
Hawk works Stahl's body with a nice hook.
Hawk looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hawk wants to clinch.
Hawk fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Bruno Stahl has been cut.
Stahl staying out of range there.
Hawk throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Stahl cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hawk misses with a straight right.

Stahl swings widly with a right hand

and Hawk counters with a single leg into guard. Stahl didn't expect that.
Hawk is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hawk is really struggling to control Stahl but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Stahl controls Hawk momentarily but Hawk frees himself.
Hawk wants to pass the guard but Stahl is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lincoln Hawk just wasn't active enough.
Stahl misses with a wild body shot.

Hawk walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lincoln Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stahl tries to sprawl but Hawk drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Stahl keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Stahl won't allow Hawk to pass to mount.

Hawk decides to stand and escape the position.
Hawk connects with a looping right hand.
Hawk blocks a jab.
Stahl stuffs the takedown attempt from Hawk. Hawk gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawk misses with a low kick.
Bruno Stahl is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stahl misses with an uppercut

and Hawk counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Stahl is trying to stall.
Stahl misses with the head strike.

Hawk cracks Stahl with a nice body shot.
Stahl lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A bit of stalling here from Hawk.
Hawk blocks an uppercut.

Stahl wants to break free but Hawk has control.
Stahl lands with a left to the head.

Nice body punch from Hawk - that landed with a thud.
Hawk throws a knee to the head but misses.

Hawk breaks from the clinch.
A jab from Hawk misses.
Hawk swings for the body but Stahl moves out of range.

Hawk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stahl looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hawk is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stahl is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hawk lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Stahl is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Stahl wants to control but Hawk postures up.
Hawk scoring with punches and elbows.
Hawk tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hawk fails to land a wild elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lincoln Hawk dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bruno Stahl's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Stahl scores with a jab.
Hawk throws a shot to the body.
Stahl fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hawk on the side of the head.
Stahl checks a leg kick.
Hawk fails to land the takedown.
Hawk lands a jab to the head.
Stahl thows a body shot but no joy.
Stahl scores with a decent looking hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hawk ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Stahl throws a body punch but Hawk moves out of range.
Hawk swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Stahl.
Hawk misses with a few strikes there.
Stahl moves away from the strike by Hawk.

Hawk throws a jab when Stahl was well out of range.

Hawk smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Stahl swings wildly with an uppercut but Hawk uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hawk is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Stahl is keeping busy.

Stahl has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hawk.
Hawk is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Hawk lands a hook to the side of the head.

Hawk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Stahl regains guard.
Stahl wants to sweep here but Hawk controlling him for the moment.
Hawk throws a big elbow that misses.
Hawk makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hawk wants to control from the top but Stahl keeps moving.
Hawk works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hawk is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Stahl is looking to control Hawk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stahl avoid being mounted?
Lincoln Hawk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Stahl is staying active underneath Hawk, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Stahl is trying to get back to full guard.

Hawk has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Stahl defend it? Hawk steps over the head and cranks it - Stahl is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hawk!
