The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lombard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lowe.
Lombard misses with a kick to the body.
Lowe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lowe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lombard manages to avoid it.
Lombard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lowe throws a poor cross that misses
and Lombard counters with a three punch combo that has Lowe backing up. Lowe nods at Lombard to acknowledge the strikes.
Lombard drops his hands momentarily and Lowe takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Lowe's coach down at McGarrys plant works was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lowe's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Lowe throws a low kick, looking for Lombard's leg but Lombard calmly moves out of range.

Lowe uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lombard.
Nicky Lowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lowe sends Lombard crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Lowe is motioning to the referee to let Lombard up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Oh Lombard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lombard wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Lowe lands a big right hand that sends Lombard crashing to the mat! Lowe stays standing though and waves Lombard back to his feet!
Lowe lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Lombard - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Lowe!
