Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Travis Sheppard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Sheppard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


It looks like Travis Sheppard has been cut.
Sheppard tries to clinch but Lesnar moves away

and Lesnar counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Lesnar has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sheppard uses from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lesnar is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lesnar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sheppard manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lesnar is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brock Lesnar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Lesnar shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sheppard manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sheppard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lesnar wanted to stand there but Sheppard had control of the position.

Lesnar is fighting to break Sheppard's control of his arms but Sheppard is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sheppard not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sheppard is looking to clinch but Lesnar is avoiding it.

Sheppard shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lesnar is trying to defend but Sheppard finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lesnar wants to control but Sheppard is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Sheppard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Lesnar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sheppard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lesnar is working away from the top position though.

Sheppard wants to control the action here but instead Lesnar manages to pass to full mount!
Sheppard is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lesnar jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sheppard manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Lesnar scores with a couple of short elbows.

Lesnar is breathing heavily.
A control attempt from Sheppard but he's now mounted!
Lesnar can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sheppard is looking to escape.

Lesnar wants to control the pace but Sheppard is squirming around nicely.
Sheppard bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sheppard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Brock Lesnar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Sheppard enables Lesnar to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sheppard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Lesnar slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Lesnar. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Well, if Lesnar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Lesnar misses with a series of wild punches.
Brock Lesnar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lesnar drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sheppard can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lesnar controls the pace.
Let's hope that Lesnar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lesnar wants to advance to full mount but Sheppard doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Lesnar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sheppard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sheppard looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Sheppard is looking to stand up but Lesnar isn't so interested in that idea.

Lesnar stands and throws Sheppard's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sheppard is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lesnar cracks Sheppard with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Sheppard tries to improve position but can't.

Lesnar just content to control the position.
Lesnar gets to mount! Sheppard was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Sheppard tries to control Lesnar's body but Lesnar pushes him off. Sheppard squirms to his side and now Lesnar has his back!

Lesnar is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Sheppard with him. Sheppard is trying to defend but Lesnar has an arm under the chin now! Sheppard grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Brock Lesnar!
