Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Reacher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gato Menma!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Darius Henderson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menma misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Reacher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Menma was covering up waiting for the punch and Reacher finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Reacher pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Menma is keeping the position for now.
Reacher is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Menma is trying to keep Reacher in close.
Reacher gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Menma misses with an attempted mid kick.

Reacher shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Reacher closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Menma lands a knee to the head.
Reacher on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Menma unloads a knee to the mid-section. Reacher lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Reacher pulls guard successfully.
Reacher is looking for a triangle but Menma pushes his legs off easily.
Menma wants to stand but Reacher has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Reacher working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Menma doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Menma manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Reacher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Menma is looking to control Reacher's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Menma avoid being mounted?

Reacher is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Menma sees it coming and defends easily.
Well, if Reacher is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Reacher is looking to advance position but Menma won't allow it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reacher connects with a nice short shot to Menma's temple.
Reacher not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Reacher stops Menma from getting back to his feet.
Menma looks winded!

Reacher landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Menma wants to get back to his feet.

Reacher seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Menma for as long as he can get away with.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reacher seems to be looking for submissions.

Menma is breathing heavily.
Jack Reacher has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Menma gets caught napping as Reacher dives in and scores a takedown. Menma manages to retain guard.

Menma misses with an elbow over the top.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Menma creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Menma pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Reacher lands a takedown into guard.

Reacher is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Menma's shoulder. That is not cool.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reacher cracks Menma with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Reacher is working to tighten his grip on Menma's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Menma has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Reacher is really squeezing tight and eventually Menma passes out! Reacher breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
