Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Choe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tournament Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Choe comes to the cage accompanied by DVDASA Theme Song. Tournament Winner will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tournament Winner!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Choe moves away.
No joy there for Winner, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Choe steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Winner.
Choe dives in and grabs Winner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Winner pushes down on Choe's head and hops out.
Winner takes a swing at Choe's ribcage but misses.
Winner stuffs the takedown attempt from Choe. Choe gets slowly back to his feet.
Choe wants to clinch
and Winner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've been told by Choe's head coaches at Team Butcher Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Choe keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Winner.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Winner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Choe drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Winner dives on top into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Winner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Winner misses with an uppercut. Choe saw that one coming.

and Winner counters with a series of strikes. Choe will be more careful next time no doubt.
Winner scores with a sloppy right hand. Choe should have avoided that one.
Winner lunges at Choe with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Choe's hand.

and Choe holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Choe is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Winner feints a jab promting Choe to slip. Winner then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Choe slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Choe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Winner to the mat! Winner manages to get full guard.
Choe wants to pass the guard but Winner is keeping the position.
Winner wants to sweep but no luck.
Winner is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Choe looking to sit in guard and control but Winner gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tournament Winner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Choe is trying to drag Winner to the mat but Winner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Winner is pushing Choe up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Oh Choe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Choe has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Winner avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Winner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
