Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vijay Singh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rafael Amaral!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Singh swings for the body but Amaral moves out of range.
Amaral connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Amaral misses with a shot to the body
and Singh counters with a stiff right hand.
Amaral tries to bum rush Singh with a series of wild strikes but Singh uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Amaral has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Amaral.
Amaral is looking to land body kicks.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Singh, as that shot connected.
Singh doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Singh avoids the head kick by Amaral.
Singh throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Amaral misses with a few strikes there.
Amaral throws a wild body kick that Singh sees coming a mile off.
Amaral looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Singh takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Singh jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Amaral misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Singh swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Amaral tries to clinch but Singh is having none of it.
Amaral tries to land a front kick but Singh steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Singh throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Amaral goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Amaral looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Singh throws a body punch but Amaral moves out of range.
Amaral throws a head kick that misses.

and Singh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Amaral looks to land a right hand but Singh moved out of range.
Amaral ducks under a wild hook from Singh.

Singh checks a low kick from Amaral.
Singh misses with an uppercut. Amaral saw that one coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Amaral throws a head kick but Singh moves out of range.
Amaral cracks Singh with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Amaral scores with a one two! Singh had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Rafael Amaral seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Amaral throws a series of punches but Singh moves out of range.
Amaral misses with a kick to the body.
Amaral throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Singh.
Singh's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Singh duly obliges.
Left hook, right uppercut from Amaral.
Singh scores with a jab to the jaw.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Singh throws a nice head kick!
Amaral goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Amaral throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Amaral misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Amaral misses the shot to the body.
Singh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Amaral misses with a two punch combination.
Singh steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Amaral. That one must have hurt.
Singh avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Singh slips a straight right by Amaral.
Singh blocks a jab.
Amaral lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Amaral comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Singh connects with a crisp jab.
Amaral misses with a hook.
Amaral throws a lazy head kick
and Singh counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Amaral looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Singh lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A combination from Amaral does no damage.
Amaral takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Amaral misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Amaral throws a head kick that Singh semi-blocks.
No joy there for Amaral, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Singh scores with a hook to the body. Amaral takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rafael Amaral dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Amaral throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Singh's head.
Amaral keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Amaral drops Singh with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Singh looks back up at him and smiles so Amaral waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Singh is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Amaral throws a series of punches but Singh moves out of range.
Oh Singh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Amaral cracks Singh with a left hook right on the temple and Singh goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Amaral lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Singh is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rafael Amaral!
A very excited looking Rafael Amaral made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
