Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gideon Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Amazing Grace by The Celtic Woman. Gideon Gabriel has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Antonio Davis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
32 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

29 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Gideon Gabriel!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Gabriel throws an overhand right that lands on Davis's shoulder, as Davis tries to avoid the shot.
Davis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gabriel swings for the body but Davis moves out of range.
Gabriel avoids the body shot from Davis.
Gabriel connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Gabriel tries for a takedown but Davis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Davis lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like Gideon Gabriel has been cut.
Gabriel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davis circles away quickly and effectively.
Davis checks a leg kick.
Davis walks into a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gabriels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Gabriel dodges the punch combination from Davis.
Gabriel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Davis tries to buck Gabriel off but Gabriel is having none of it.
Davis avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gabriel.
Gabriel lands a few punches from side control.
Davis tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gabriel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gabriel in side control, throwing shots but Davis defends.

Davis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Gabriel misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Davis prevents Gabriel from improving position.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gabriel working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis is trying to get back to half guard.
Gabriel trying to control the position but Davis is working away.

Gabriel lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Davis is not content to let Gabriel control the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Davis can't do much from the bottom here.

Gabriel tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

It looks like Antonio Davis has been cut.
Davis is looking to regain half guard here but Gabriel keeps moving and retains side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Davis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Davis is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gabriel connects with a decent elbow.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Davis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gabriel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gabriel scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Davis is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gabriel can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
