PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seb Freeth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Grey's choice of entrance music: Road to Zion. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Seb Freeth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sebastian Grey!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeth misses with a body kick.
Grey circles away from the clinch attempt.
Grey misses with a wild body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Freeth. Grey does a little dance to reset his feet.
Grey with a jab.
Grey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Freeth takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Freeth throws a wild body kick that Grey sees coming a mile off.
Freeth tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Grey counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Freeth's guard now.
Grey tries to free his leg and advance position but Freeth is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Freeth looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Grey puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Grey is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Freeth has managed to free his arm - good work.

Grey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Freeth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Grey has managed to get both his arms back between Freeth's legs - danger averted.

Grey is looking to take a break and control but Freeth is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Grey seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Grey is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Freeth is just riding it out for now. Grey eventually gives up the hold.
Grey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Grey stands and throws Freeth's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Freeth wants to control but Grey postures up.

Grey is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Freeth knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Grey thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Freeth gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grey is trying to control the action in half guard but Freeth is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Grey is controlling the pace.
Freeth moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sebastian Grey dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Freeth uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Grey.
Freeth blocks a low kick nicely.
Grey throws a low kick but Freeth avoids it.
Grey throws a nice looking combination but Freeth bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Grey throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Freeth was covering up waiting for the punch and Grey finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Freeth seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Grey is looking to stall here but Freeth recovers full guard.

Freeth throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Grey escapes and throws Freeth's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Freeth is looking to reverse the position.
Grey has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Freeth!
Freeth is trying desperately to improve position.
Grey is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Freeth is in real trouble.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Freeth rolls, trying to escape but Grey keeps control of the position.
Freeth trying to control the action but Grey just sinks the hooks in.
I would not like to be Freeth right now.

I really don't envy Freeth right now.
Freeth is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Grey is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Freeth is tapping out! This one is all over!
