The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Thornton.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Thornton controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thornton misses with the ground and pound.
Thornton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lacroix has escaped the position, nice work there.
Lacroix is trying to control Thornton's posture but Thornton avoids it.
Lacroix is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Canadian Combat Sports, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thornton misses with the ground and pound.
Thornton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lacroix keeps working.

Thornton is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lacroix is trying to escape and Thornton transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lacroix is forced to tap! Nice work there by Thornton! Very nice indeed!
