Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrien Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newton comes to the cage accompanied by She Knows. The crowd seem to be enjoying Silva's choice of entrance music: DJ Khalil - China. Christopher Newton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Newton, pushing him back against the cage.

Silva has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Newton is trying to keep an underhook but Silva manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Newton's head.
Silva thows a huge punch but Newton dodges it nicely.
Silva wants to control but Newton is keeping him busy.
Newton's coaches at Montreal's Finest have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Newton's waist but Newton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.

Silva felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
