Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angus McLoughlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLoughlin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cadence to Arms kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Ivan Ko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Angus McLoughlin!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLoughlin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
An inside leg kick lands from McLoughlin.
McLoughlin misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Ko counter with a right hand.
Nice jab there from McLoughlin.


It looks like Ivan Ko has been cut.
Ko avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McLoughlin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ko is fending him off so far but McLoughlin persists. Nope, Ko circles away and we're back to standing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McLoughlin on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
McLoughlin looks to land a combination but Ko avoids it well.

Ko fails to land with a series of punches.
Ko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McLoughlin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McLoughlin misses with a series of wild punches.
We've been told by Ko's head coaches at Facebreaker Academy : Striking that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Angus McLoughlin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McLoughlin.
Ko throws a right hand that McLoughlin ducks under and follows up with a left that McLoughlin also avoids with ease.

McLoughlin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A looping hook to the body misses from McLoughlin. Ko does a little dance to reset his feet.
No joy there for McLoughlin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

enabling McLoughlin to counter with a crisp jab.
McLoughlin throws a low kick but Ko avoids it.
Ko throws a series of punches but McLoughlin moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Ko. Those never looked like landing.
McLoughlin shoots in for a double leg but Ko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ko leaves McLoughlin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ivan Ko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angus McLoughlin.
McLoughlin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Ko counters with a straight right hand.

McLoughlin looks for the body kick but Ko saw that one coming.
Ko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McLoughlin.
McLoughlin misses with an uppercut. Ko saw that one coming.
McLoughlin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McLoughlin.
McLoughlin throws a looping overhand right but Ko ducks down to avoid it.
McLoughlin throws a head kick but Ko moves out of range.
McLoughlin looks winded!

Ko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McLoughlin.

and Ko counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Ko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McLoughlin throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ko scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

McLoughlin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ko is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McLoughlin.

Ko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McLoughlin.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McLoughlin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ko avoids it really well and circles away.
Ko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angus McLoughlin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ivan Ko's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ko lands a jab.
McLoughlin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ko's waist but Ko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McLoughlin off to one side.
McLoughlin tries a head kick but it misses.
McLoughlin moves in looking to clinch but Ko pushes him off.
McLoughlin is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ko.

Ko scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

McLoughlin dives in and grabs Ko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ko pushes down on McLoughlin's head and hops out.
McLoughlin is breathing heavily.
Ko misses with an uppercut. McLoughlin saw that one coming.
A big right from McLoughlin misses.
Ko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
McLoughlin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
McLoughlin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ko thows a body shot but no joy.
Ko misses with a series of wild punches.

Ko drops McLoughlin with a beautiful combination! McLoughlin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ko is looking for the KO!


McLoughlin is rocked!

and Ko counters with a crisp right that sends McLoughlin to the canvas! Ko follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
