Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Cozard Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pit Mies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cozard Jr comes to the ring accompanied by Kid Rock - Born Free. Mies has chosen Condemned 84 - Face the agression as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ryan Cozard Jr has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mies gets a takedown into half guard.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mies has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Mies tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cozard Jr defends well and Mies ends up having to push Cozard Jr into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Mies closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Mies wants to stand but Cozard Jr has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mies lands a nice short elbow.

and Cozard Jr counters with a three punch combo that has Mies backing up. Mies nods at Cozard Jr to acknowledge the strikes.

Mies takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mies looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cozard Jr is fending him off so far but Mies persists. Nope, Cozard Jr circles away and we're back to standing.

Mies fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Cozard Jr pushes Mies away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mies gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Cozard Jr wants to get back to his feet but Mies is dominant here and he's now got Cozard Jr's back!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mies really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Cozard Jr.
Mies is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

A determined Pit Mies didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
