Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ceaser Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Richmond!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Richmond darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Richmond is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Richmond trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Richmond.

Richmond is working for a kimura but Gracie is defending it quite comfortably.
Richmond wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Richmond escapes and gets back to his feet.
Gracie stuffs the takedown attempt from Richmond. Richmond gets slowly back to his feet.
Richmond tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Richmond didn't expect that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie looking to pass the guard.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
Gracie has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Richmond is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Richmond is keeping the position for now.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gracie stands and throws Richmond's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Gracie moves into full mount!
Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Richmond tries to control the position but Gracie now has his back.
Richmond looks winded!

Gracie looking for the choke from the back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gracie working for a choke but Richmond is defending well.

Gracie is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Richmond knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Richmond for a finish.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Richmond wants to escape the position.

Richmond won't enjoy being in this position. Gracie looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Richmond is tapping - it's over boys! Gracie picks up the submission victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ceaser Gracie!
An out of breath Ceaser Gracie thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
