Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edwardo Mccarty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mccarty leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mccarty could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.

Johnson manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mccarty got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mccarty has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.

Mccarty postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it.

Mccarty drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Johnson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mccarty has Johnson in his guard.

It looks like Edwardo Mccarty has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mccarty tries to bench press Johnson off him but Johnson keeps the position.
Johnson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Mccarty manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mccarty swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mccarty has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Johnson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mccarty.

Mccarty has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Mccarty can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Johnson controls the pace.
Mccarty wants to control the position but Johnson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Mccarty wants to sweep but Johnson has passed to side control!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Johnson lands a strong strike to the head of Mccarty. That's dazed him! Johnson looking to finish here. Mccarty is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Johnson lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
