These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karim Montana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Djamel Hammouche!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammouche misses with a looping left.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hammouche has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Hammouche misses with a head kick.
Montana comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Montana throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Montana throws a head kick but Hammouche moves out of range.
Montana throws a jab but it's blocked by Hammouche.
Hammouche tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hammouche defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Montana.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hammouche lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Montana has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Montana and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Montana misses with a hook.
Montana tries to clinch up but Hammouche circles away and keeps his distance.
Hammouche has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Montana finds it's way round the side to connect with Hammouche's head.
Hammouche tries a head kick but it misses.
Hammouche just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hammouche tries to land a front kick but Montana steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hammouche slips under a jab.
Hammouche throws a head kick that misses.
Montana ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hammouche moves away.
Hammouche misses with a body punch

and Montana counters with a head kick that drops Hammouche!


Hammouche is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Montana loads up on a big left hand. Hammouche felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Montana looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Hammouche can't hide his disappointment, as Montana celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karim Montana!
An out of breath Karim Montana thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
