The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farrelly throws an off balance right hand
and Mars cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Seamus Farrelly has been cut.
Farrelly looks to score with a jab to the body but Mars is just out of range.
Farrelly uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mars.
Farrelly misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mars lands a slapping body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Farrelly throws a hook to the side of Mars's head but Mars sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mars slips a straight right by Farrelly.
Mars paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Farrelly throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mars ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Farrelly keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mars connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Farrelly has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mars.
Farrelly misses with a body kick.
Mars throws a front kick that sends Farrelly stumbling back into the cage.
Farrelly looks winded!
Mars cracks Farrelly with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Mars has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Farrelly to stand back up!
Farrelly is rocked!
Mars feints and then cracks Farrelly's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Farrelly down.
Farrelly is still on wobbly legs! Can Mars finish him?
Mars dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Mars moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Mars fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Farrelly out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Vincent Mars!
Vincent Mars retains his heavyweight title!
