Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Duck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duck has chosen Elvis Presley - Blue Suede Shoes as his entrance music. Donald Duck has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Frank Mir's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Donald Duck!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Duck manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mir seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Duck paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Duck tries a head kick but it misses.
Mir misses with a takedown attempt - Duck sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Duck is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Mir jumps into side control!
Mir is working Duck over with some ground and pound from side control.
Duck is trying to get back to his feet.
Duck takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mir stands up and beckons Duck to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Donald Duck has been cut.
Mir dives in and grabs Duck's left leg, looking for a takedown. Duck pushes down on Mir's head and hops out.

Duck swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Mir holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Duck throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Mir counters with a left and a right that stings Duck.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mir shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duck pinned against the cage. Duck gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Duck lands the left hand.
Mir goes for a double leg but Duck avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Duck continues to drive forward.

Mir escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Duck avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mir uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Duck.
Mir has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duck throws a leg kick but Mir checks it.
Mir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Duck tries to avoid it but Mir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Duck to the ground. Duck escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mir avoids a punch combination nicely.
Duck stuffs the takedown attempt from Mir. Mir gets slowly back to his feet.

Mir shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duck pinned against the cage. Duck gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Duck goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Duck misses the target.

Mir fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Duck to the ground. Mir is now in Duck's guard.
Duck is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Duck wants to get back to his feet but Mir is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mir gets the takedown into side control.
Duck is looking to reverse the position.
Mir remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duck is not content to let Mir control the position.
Duck manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Duck wants to advance to full mount but Mir doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Mir doesn't manage to clinch there - Duck circles away.
Mir shoots in looking for a takedown but Duck manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mir's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Horrible takedown by Mir or perhaps it was just good defense by Duck which made him look bad.

Duck connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mir's hands.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sloppy strikes from Duck. Those never looked like landing.
Mir's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Duck connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mir scrambles back to his feet.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Duck.
Mir has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Duck.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duck throws a right and a left that both miss.
Duck lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mir circles away quickly and effectively.
Duck fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
