The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis slips a jab and a cross from Hart.
Davis lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Davis takes a swing at Hart's ribcage but misses.
Davis moves to clinch but Hart breaks away
and Hart counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Davis misses with a few strikes there.
Davis throws a head kick that misses.
Davis throws a right hand that Hart ducks under and follows up with a left that Hart also avoids with ease.
Davis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hart moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hart is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hart lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hart as he jumps to the side.

Hart cracks Davis with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Hart lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hart.

It looks like Maxwell Davis has been cut.
Hart pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Davis back to the cage. Hart follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Hart holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Oh Davis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Davis is breathing heavily.

Hart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Davis seems to have got his legs back now.
Hart lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hart.

Hart's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hart lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Davis goes for a double leg but Hart avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hart continues to drive forward.

Davis is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hart to keep the fight standing.

Hart goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Hart stalks Davis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Davis's face. Davis staggers backwards, shaken.

Hart bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Davis's head backwards.
Hart lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davis circles away quickly and effectively.

Hart cracks Davis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Nice straight punches there by Hart. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hart.

Davis takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A punch lands to the side of Davis 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Hart is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Davis had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Hart stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hart wants it to stay on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hart tries to stand and escape but Davis is controlling the position.
Davis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hart thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Davis if he has to take too many more of those.

Hart connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Davis's hands.

Davis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hart tries to avoid it but Davis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hart to the ground. Hart escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well Hart has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
