Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Bjornsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Bjornsson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leonard Briggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Bjornsson!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bjornsson scores with a one two! Briggs had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Leonard Briggs has been cut.

Bjornsson closes the distance and clinches.
Bjornsson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Briggs avoids it.

Bjornsson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Briggs can't fight it off and eventually Bjornsson manages to take the fight to the floor. Briggs looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bjornsson wants to pass the guard but Briggs is keeping the position.
Bjornsson wants to control from the top but Briggs keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Max Bjornsson wasn't active enough on the ground.

Briggs is trying to break the clinch but Bjornsson has him pressed against the cage.

Bjornsson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bjornsson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Briggs drops back looking for a leg! Bjornsson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bjornsson manages to kick Briggs off! Briggs jumps back into Bjornsson's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Max Bjornsson.

Briggs gets caught napping as Bjornsson dives in and scores a takedown. Briggs manages to retain guard.

Bjornsson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Briggs dives on top into guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bjornsson holds on and takes a little breather.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bjornsson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Briggs is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bjornsson defends well.

Briggs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Briggs is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bjornsson defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Briggs enables Bjornsson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Briggs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Briggs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bjornsson controls the pace.

Briggs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Briggs thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Bjornsson wanted to stand there but Briggs had control of the position.

Bjornsson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Briggs has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bjornsson but great work by Briggs.

Briggs is trying to get an arm triangle but Bjornsson is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bjornsson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Briggs is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Briggs gets to mount! Bjornsson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Bjornsson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bjornsson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Briggs manages to capitalize on a mistake by Bjornsson to take his back!

Well Bjornsson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
